BABY GIRL!

It’s a baby girl and we couldn’t be more excited!  Our doctors told us they wouldn’t do an ultrasound for us till 22-24 weeks to find out the gender and I wasn’t going to take that. That is like 2 more months! I found a place in town that will do it as soon as 16 weeks and so I got right on that. Saturday I was exactly 16 weeks and they gave us a 100% girl! After we got to count our little girl’s fingers and toes, ten on both. It was the first time Chad had seen the baby in an ultrasound so that was exciting too! I had made two “It’s a boy!” and “It’s a girl!” t-shirts so right after I had Chad run out to the car and grab them and we snapped a photo to send to our family and friends. I was ready to go shopping right after because Girl’s do have the cutest clothes by far but Chad was so eager to get back to work. Little did he know it’s hard to focus and work when you just found such exciting news out!

Kenz my favorite person out here was so cute and kind and threw me a Gender Reveal party. We had all the wives out here wear what color of shirt they thought it would be, pink or blue…. obviously. Everyone pulled strong for Boy. They would say they wanted it to be a girl but thought it was a boy. I think we had two girls wear pink. We had yummy treats and drinks and then we were all ready to reveal. Kenz made a cake with the color of cake being the gender. We cut a slice out and all were so happy to see pink. We had cake and ice cream and just talked for a while. We had a bowl where people could put names in and we got some really good ones. I get scared to tell people what we are thinking because they will say they hate it or steal it. Haha right now my favorite name for our girl is Probably Scotlynn and we’d call her scoty….. Some people hate, some people love but oh well. We’ve got a lot of time to decide but for now nobody go naming their baby that.

The cute Pink cake!

My favorite little boy!

Finally I talked Chad in coming home a little early Saturday to go out and celebrate! We went to a yummy, yummy place down town called Teriyaki Grill and stuffed ourselves full. At dinner we talked about how lucky and blessed we are. Chad is so far having a very successful summer, we are having a baby girl, we have the best family and friends, and I think I could really go on forever. Everything is just perfect right now! Our only regret about finding out about our baby girl so early is we just want the baby to come now and have this child. I don’t want to wait 5 months. That is soo long! I’m excited to start shopping though and finding what bedding, crib, car seat, stroller, clothes, EVERYTHING I want. Off to Hobby Lobby for sure soon to start bow making. Oh this baby girl is going to be the best!

Here is the ultrasound dvd we got. It's kind of long
and like every ultrasound so may be boring to watch.
You know I love it though and watch it ten times a day!

It's way small so can be hard to see everything. May be easier to watch on Youtube. (Baby Heward Gender)

6 Months for Us!

Saturday was Chad’s and I 6 month mark. Yippee! Sometimes it seems like we’ve already been married for years but then at the same time it seems like it’s been a couple weeks. We’ll go with the couple years though then this baby feels more normal. We were both pretty excited for this but weren't sure what you do for such a time. Like our real anniversary you better believe we’ll be exchanging gifts, but I wasn’t sure if you do that for your first six months. I bought him twenty uncrustables and thought that was good. (He doesn’t like my making of a pb&j). But my dear kind sweet husband took all my complaining from these last few months and planned a little trip for us.

Cheesecake Factory + bath + shopping + getting away was the most perfect thing he could do! We left Sunday morning (since he had to work all day Saturday) and went to Charlotte NC. We got to the mall around 11:30 and I was ready to eat. Three months ago moving to Columbia I was pretty excited because I thought if we are in the state capital there is no way there is not a Cheese Cake Factory and a Pf Changs. Ya I was dead wrong. On both. They don’t have crap here. All we have is a Carl’s Jr called Hardee’s and Bojangles.  So this was great. Good times at the factory. After we did a little shopping or at least I did a little shopping. My cute husband had asked me why I never wear perfume a few days prior and I told him because I don’t own any so he asked what I liked and I’m still just loving my Abercrombie 8 since high school so of course he tries to play it cool and tells me he needs to run into Abercrombie for these shorts he wants. I’m like what the fetch.. Chad & Abercrombie does not go. And then when he tells me to go look at the girl’s stuff I catch on and he was just trying to be a sneaky amazing husband and went and purchased me some smell good. After all the shopping I actually felt pretty bad because it was actually Father’s day and he is in the running of the holiday with this baby in my tummy and all and I didn’t get him anything and he didn’t want anything at the mall. Our next adventure was mainly for him though so I guess it equals all out. So we left the mall and went to our hotel. Such nice rooms and very relaxing. We then left and went to Carrowinds. The coolest place next to Disneyland. It was so much fun! They had soo many rollercoaster’s and Chad wouldn’t let me ride them so I would sit and take pictures of him doing so.  Let me hurry and give you a preview of our convo on the drive over to the park.

Mikey: "Chad I think I’ll be okay on most the rides. Ill look at them and judge first"
Chad: "Mikey do you want to kill our baby over a ride?"
Mikey: "Chad I’m not going to kill our baby"
Chad: "When the baby dies I am blaming it all on you"
Mikey: "sniff sniff okay I won’t ride"
…. 30 minutes later
Chad: "Mikey I don’t like riding rides by myself come ride"
Mikey: "Well I don’t know if I should"
Chad: "this one looks okay"
Mikey: "Okay"
Chad: "K Mikey hold on to here and put your feet here and push here. Do not let your belly touch this bar. & Then Chad doesn’t enjoy the ride because the whole ride he watches my belly to see any movement."

You guys probably all think I am horrible but really the like three rides I did go on were approved for children like ten inches tall. But really so much fun and somehow he got me on the rapid ride and of course I got the very wettest. We went back to the hotel that night enjoyed some dinner, Chad watched as much ESPN as he could in that time (no cable in Columbia) & we just had an all around great time.

& Can't forget to give a shout out to the best Dad in the whole wide world!
Love him soo much!

&& Can't pass up the oppurtunity to say i'm 15 weeks today! Just cruising right along!

UTAH

Last Saturday the 5th I got to go back to Utah and see friends and family. I do love South Carolina.. Usually, but being away from home has made me realize how much I love, love Utah. Everything about it I just love so much. Family, friends, mountains, dry heat, café rio, St George & my most missed Richfield! My mom, dad, Bay and Payts came and picked me up in Salt Lake. I was expecting signs, balloons, some roses.. but no, nothing. Instead they were actually late to get me. This was the longest I have ever been in my whole life without seeing my ma and pa and I thought it deserved a welcome home banner.  It’s okay though because I really didn’t care and was just so happy to be in Utah and finally see them. && Who needs a welcome home anything when your first stop is JIMMER CAMP!?! Payton had Jimmer camp so of course Bay me and my mom were those creepy moms/sisters recording and taking pictures of Jimmer and trying to tell Payton to “move closer” for that great picture.  Before we headed to Richfield we of course took a café rio stop and I did eat a whole BIG salad. Being pregnant + deprivation = easy. We got to Richfield around 5 and I met up with all my friends before they rudely left to California for the week. We went to dinner ..SOUTH CHINA.. one of my long lost most missed places. After we just talked and talked for hours. Me being jet lag and time change and pregnant and not a night person this was very hard but so worth it.

Lex couldn't  make it because she was on a.... HOTT DATE!!

Sunday the family went down to St George. I went to my precious little niece’s baby blessing and got to go over to the Hewards for dinner! It was so good to see all of them again. I wish I would of got some pictures but of course didn’t. Monday morning we swam all day with the family and had so much fun. I forget how much fun and enjoyable it is to just be with my family. I love it!

Payton doing the "Michael Jackson Grab"

The rest of the week was kind of a blur with Ashton having t ball games to Payton’s baseball games to griffin’s basketball tournament. Making lots of good food, spending every night with the sisters and mom and just having a good ol time! I wish I had taken more pictures of everything and everyone but of course didn’t.

I flew home Sunday morning and it was such a long day.  St George to Salt Lake to Atlanta to Columbia is too much. I was so excited to see my cute hubby though! He was so cute and had the house spotless with dinner in the oven and of course some rose pedals and roses in our room. What a sweetie right?? I miss my family again but so good to be going to bed next to Chad. Baby update: We went to our 14 weeks appointment yesterday. Chad got to listen to the heartbeat, which was fun. Most everything is looking great. I thought morning sickness was goodbye with the first trimester and after going good for 2 weeks but today it is somehow back and kicked into full gear with a full day of sickness. Lovely.
