2012 Review

I wanted to work on a video of all the little clips and pictures of Scoti over the year and make something to remember. I did the first few minutes and cried I loved it so much. 17 minutes might be a bit much but not for this mama. I'll probably watch it everyday till she's 20. Thought I would post it and share though, even if you only catch the first thirty seconds it'll be a good thirty seconds. Enjoy

If the video doesn't pull up and your just dying to see it, it's on youtube under Scotlynn Heward 2012

Christmas 2012

Christmas was a definite success this year. We went down to St George the week before Christmas for Scoti’s Birthday celebration and then the plan was to spend Christmas Eve with the Heward’s and head to Richfield late that night. The snow changed our plans Christmas Eve morning when we woke up and it was already a blizzard to Richfield. We knew we wanted to get on the road before it got dark and make it to Richfield before it was super bad roads. I felt bad not being able to open presents with the Heward’s and spending some Christmas time with all of them.

Chad dressed up like Santa on Christmas Eve
and delivered presents for Sub for Santa!
Growing up on Christmas Eve we would always go to Denny’s, bowling, decorate cookies, PJ’S and then I’ll be home for Christmas as our movie. It was the BEST. It’s been at least 5 years since we did this but this year we all really wanted to attempt it again. It started with Denny’s being the first fail. They now close on Christmas Eve at like 6. What!? When did they start treating their employees so great? Then the bowling didn’t sound so fun to about anybody. And lets get real about who wanted to crack out the roller and make sugar cookies for Santa. We did open Pajamas but not until everyone opened the wrong persons. This happens every few Christmas’s when my mother tries to do codes to keep people out of presents and then forgets where the code is or what it stands for. The boys and Bailey I think attempted starting I’ll be home for Christmas but we just couldn’t do it. We had to build Scoti’s trike and all that Christmas Eve parent stuff. Weird.

Christmas morning came and we got spoiled as ever. I’ve been ringless for just over a year so being overly excited about a new one would be an understatement. I just love looking down and seeing a ring and the fact that it’s the most gorgeous ring ever helps too! My parents got me the bedspread I’ve wanted and the Michael Kors Lab Top case. And then all the great nik naks you get. Chad got all new snowboarding gear and boots and bindings. My parents got him a new Ipod and a nice DVD player. I’d say Chad got more clothes than anyone but that shouldn’t come as a too big of a surprise. Scoti got a cute little tricycle from Chady and I and then a few little things. My parents got her a rocking horse and some weird loud toy that she just loves! Our family gift this year is a family trip and I am so excited! I think we’ve decided on a cruise to the Caribbean in March! We are still fighting bailey for the dates. She wants to go over her spring break but that means Chad and I miss Pirates Cove. I am so sad about this. Hopefully we can talk Bailey into thinking that college is overrated. Hahaha

The day after Christmas I’m not sure if it ever stopped snowing! I’ve never seen so much snow hit Richfield in a 24 hours span. I really wanted to get Scoti out in the snow and see if she liked it. I bundled her up and that was the first thing she hated. Then I took her out and she was her fathers child, ready to go right back inside. Or in Chad’s case, ready to go back to St George. When she went down for her nap my mom listened for her and we all decided to go sledding and freeze our bums off! It was so much fun and I’m so happy we made the time and were able to do that this break.

I’m tempted to keep on going and get the Hammer family reunion posted and New Years but It’s kind of late and I still want to paint my finger nails. Cramming all the me time I can in the hours Scoti goes to bed and before I do.
