6 Months Old!

I cannot believe my little Scotlynn is 6 months old! Part of me feels like she was just born days ago and then another part seems like I’ve had her for years. So maybe I can believe she is.. who knows. Either way it’s crazy stuff! Everyday I am amazed at what she does and what she learns. A few things about my 6 month beauty……….

-Crawling everywhere!
-Loves rice cereal
-Hates baby food!
-Pulling up on everything
-Crawls to mom and puts arms up when she wants to be held
-Loves the kitchen whisk
-Going to bed around 9, waking up around 8
 -Sucks on everything
-Blows on my neck, legs, anything and makes farting noises
-Loves swimming and bath time
-Loves her binky

So yes Scoti’s newest stage is pulling herself up on everything! At first it was so cute and fun to try and watch her do it and now it’s so horrible. She pulls up on the couches, chairs, coffee table, doors, her swing, everything! And then she gets up and can’t get down so falls. Hard! So I literally cannot take my eyes or hands off of her. I have to stand right behind her and catch her. It’s exhausting. She is learning so fast though and it secretly makes me such a proud mommy.

Now what’s been going on around here lately…….. Nothing. Chad is just working his life away and Scoti and I are sitting around not doing not a whole lot. I know I brag about my hubs like every post but how can I not. He just keeps doing better and keeps impressing me. Two weeks ago he hit 100! Last year he funded right under 100. So yeah he has already passed up last year with flying colors. He is right on track to hit his goal of 200! And then last week he beat his best week and got 15 sells in one week! Half of them being on Friday and Saturday. Couldn’t be a more proud and happier wife! This week his goal is to get 18. We’ll see if he can do it. J

Great news. I got a ring. Another fake one that is. But the thing is I love it! Like I really really do. I decided I am totally fine wearing a $25 ring on my finger. It looks real, I look married and I love it. That’s all that really matters right??

I’ve been missing the girls of last summer lots lately! I had so much fun with all of them and loved spending my whole summer with them everyday. I wish we could of all stayed together but I realize this is the best office we could possibly be in. I’ve been missing my family and friends back home too! Some of my friends were in powell this last week and I almost cried I wanted to be there so bad. But lets me real I’m the friend that’s married and has a child so I probably wouldn’t be wanted. Haha Only a week in a half I will be back visiting Utah! I cannot wait!

Well I don’t think I can possibly do anything exciting this next week or so to post about so I probably won’t have an update till after the 4th. But man oh man will that be the best post ever. Here are a few pictures from the last week or so………………
I am still pretty bummed I didn't end up buying this for her. Doesn't she look so stinkin cute?!

Peaches. She actually liked this choice of baby food. I think atleast. I'm not even sure if she got any in her mouth or if she was just enjoying playing with it.
This is my favorite. After I get her to sleep at night I turn the tv on real low and lay on the couch and just hold her for a bit before I lay her down.

My cute little bikini girl!

First time I found her standing up. Her pack n play has been lowered now.

Disgusting right?? I almost died.

The cake I made for the hubs! His favorite!

Ringless

What girl doesn’t love a nice sparkly diamond on her finger? Going throughout your day and every so often catching glimpse of it and remembering all over again how much you love it. That feeling of getting your ring cleaned and it looking brand new and you just can’t stop staring.Yaaa…. I remember those good old days……..

It’s been a little over six months when my wedding ring got stolen right out of our car. Dang thief’s scored big that night! My fingers were nice and fat at the time so I hadn’t been wearing it and smarty pants me left it in the car in the change thingy. I cried and was super sad but knew I would get another one someday. Until then I found a beauty at TJ Max for $19.99 that would work. About a month after Scoti my fingers were no longer chubby so that $20 ring no longer fit and I got rid of it.

Now I am ringless and feel like a teen mom. I feel like I am already a young one with a baby but when there is no ring on the finger I look like a knocked up single teen mother. I feel like one of the first things I do when I meet people or see people is check the hand. Ya know just to see what you’re dealing with and what not. Well my hand definitely says single mother at the age of 21. The last few times I’ve been to Richfield Chad hasn’t been with me and I don’t wear a ring so I think they all think I had a super unsuccessful marriage resulting in a child. It’s all good tho. I’ve tried day after day to talk my hubby into a ring but it’s not happening. I would think as a husband he would want his wife with a ring on but cost vs. looking married, cost is the big winner!

I miss that feeling of the worth on your finger and looking down and thinking how beautiful it looks. I might just have to make another trip to TJ’s and pretend I’ve got something on my finger worth over $20 and pretend my husband cares I’m even wearing a ring.

VIDEO VIDEO VIDEO

I had too many great videos not to do a little video blog today! Miss Scotlynn is getting so big so fast! Chad and I were just talking today how when we got here she couldn't sit up, roll over, crawl, pull up, pretty much she laid there and made being a mom too easy. Now i've got cords taped to the wall, pillows around tables, blocking off the tile and I cant take my eyes off of her. She is so much fun though and I love love being her mom!

Scoti going to town on Bexi's swing! She loved it and I want one!

We finally bought Scoti a Bumbo! It's been so wonderful! She loves it and i've been able to do lots more things knowing she is in a seat and isn't going to crawl anywhere.

Scoti crawled to the window and kept trying to get out but kept hitting her head on the glass.

Scoti cruising around.

I love this! I've been trying to give Scoti a little baby food. She doesn't like it to say the least. This morning we tried smashed peas. Disgusting I know.

UTAHH!

Before we begin.. Isnt' this adorable. I was out in the kitchen and went into the room to see these two love bugs of mine asleep. I was in love with Scoti holding her daddy's finger. So precious.

Lucky, lucky me got to go back and visit Utah this last week! It was very last minute but it was very much needed and definitely enjoyed! Last Monday my mom called and just threw out the idea instead of her, Lindie & Bailey all trying to fly out to see me why doesn’t she just book me a ticket with her sky miles and I come home and that way everyone can see us… I mean Scoti…. So I said ya that could probably work and then she said well you should come home for graduation and surprise Bailey and the rest of the family. That was in like 3 days, so I hung up and went and talked to Chad. I knew he’d be the only one not liking this idea, but he actually said that’d be fun and a nice break for me and I totally should. So I got super excited but had to control my excitement since it would be a surprise for the family. I was a little nervous to fly with Scoti because I would be all alone this time but it was a nonstop flight so that was great! The flight there went amazing. Well the actual flying part did, getting there not so much. Taylor drove me to the airport and of course I get us lost! Freaking out we finally make it to the airport. Get through security which is a beast with breast milk and I get to the gate and I’m thinking I have just enough time to change scoti and warm up a bottle. Scoti had pooped up her back. Great! I get that taken care of and knew I would not have time to go to the bathroom myself. Get on the plane and I’ve got a flippin middle seat. Two guys in their nice suits and laptops out. I was fearful for them. But it actually went amazing! She napped a little, laughed, played, no crying, no spit ups, just great kid right? We land do the whole surprise thing. Yay happy surprise.

Remember how I didn't have time to go potty. Well about half way through the flight Scoti was jumping on my lap and really pushing my bladder to the limit. So I finally got up to go and got into that little cubicle and had nowhere to put Scoti. So i made a seat out of my diaper bag and put her in the corner. Clever right?
The next day was Bays graduation. That was…. Fun. She had a pretty small graduating class so it went super fast so that was a plus. Graduations were never fun though so its like what did I really expect. That afternoon she left on the CHT Church History Tour At like 5 in the afternoon. Bummer to ever having a fun graduation night but I guess that’s okay. She was  on a flight to New York! The biggest bummer of it all was she barely got to see Scoti and Scoti barely got to see her Aunt Bayy! Sad… That night though the family headed up to cabin……

Aunt Bay & Scoti!!

Loves that yummy foot!

These boys were so excited to be there!
To make a super duper long story short lets just say the power was out and we all cuddled around the wood burning stove to sleep and I was beyond blessed I was no pioneer. The next afternoon around 3 it came on. Warm baths, showers, toilets, heat all of it never felt so good! We stayed up at the cabin till Monday and had so much fun! Nothing beats the view up there and just relaxing and shooting guns. Love it up there!
Scoti doing some push ups!

Tuesday my mom, Scoti and I headed to St George to see Chad’s family and see Mandee’s new baby Adelaide. This little girl was so tiny I was fearful to hold her. So so cute though and she made Scoti look even bigger than I already thought she was. I want to hold her again right now. I got a costa vida fix and it never tasted so delicious!

Wednesday was goodbye day. It was seriously the fastest week of my life. Lindie took me to the airport and I made sure I was super early this time so any bathroom problems or anything couldn’t ruin this flight. It was all going so great and I couldn’t be more thrilled when I got on the plane and found out I had the whole row of seats to myself! Best thing in the world. The plane takes off and Scoti decides to just blow out of her pants again. Sick I know and she is doing is so much lately.  The seatbelt light wont turn off so im wrapping her in her burp cloth praying it turns off any second. Finally it does and we go change her and put on a new outfit. Right when I sit down she spits up everywhere. I go to grab a burp cloth but wait I only packed one and it has poo on it now. I’m using wipes to clean myself up and the seat. Then lets just say Scoti screams for 3 hours straight. It was the biggest nightmare of my life! I’m now soo fearful to go home for the 4th because I cannot do that again. The only up side to it all is I really don’t think it can get much worst. Oh yes and then I’m getting off the plane and my flip flop breaks so I just walk through the whole airport with one shoe on and one shoe off. That just put the cherry right on top!

But now we are back and trying to get all unpacked and in the groove again. I was here for a little less than a month and got to go back to visit and now I’m back and in a month I get to go back again. This is the way it should be! I miss my family already! They are so good to us when we go home and everyone just loves loves miss Scoti so it’s really the biggest break when I’m there and I love it!

We went and got pedicures the day I was leaving and what a great daughter I have raised. Sleeps while mom gets her toes done!

Here are a few old pictures I never got to blog!

Yay to a video blog update! So like I’m still slightly blog stupid so I haven’t quite figured out how you post a video to your blog and I just learned and I’m so excited but then I didn’t really have any cool videos to post. Just those videos where I’m trying so hard to make Scoti laugh but really it doesn’t work and I just sound like an idiot talking baby talk into my phone.. But then there are a few videos from a few weeks ago when we first got out to Kentucky that I thought hey these would actually be good to post because it’s like one of her first times rolling and everybody missed that back at home so here are a few videos. And yes I still am talking baby talk and sounding like an idiot but its okay. It’s cute right???

this video is slightly long. This is when it took hard work and time to roll that whole body over.

I'm sure everyone has seen one million videos of her laughing but this one makes me laugh because she see's me recording and gets so serious. which is so her! She will not laugh or smile as soon as the camera comes out so it's so hard to catch those cute moments.
I love this one too. It's here just being her. Playing with anything but her toys of course. She fights with the wipes and it keeps her entertained for hours. Then you get to see her full roll that we accomplished just a few weeks ago!

On the subject of being blog stupid can I just apologize the way my blog looks. I don’t know how to add like people or things to the side, I don’t know how to change my picture and the background is going to stay the same till my blogging days end. I am just proud of myself for figuring out how to add Scotlynn’s name to Chad’s and mine and I figured out how to center pictures. Yayy for my smartness.

Now a little update how about…. Well worst mother of the year goes to….. ME! I was changing Scoti on our bed and went to go grab a new outfit out of her room and like I didn’t even think the chick could roll on the bed, that is until I heard a thump and then a cry. I felt like the worst mom ever and then I started crying and I thought she was going to die or something. It was horrible. And I don’t really know why I keep telling people I did such a thing. When it first happened I immediately thought, I am not telling Chad! I am not telling anyone! But now you all know but lets not judge because I really am a decent mom and Scoti is still super happy and alive.
Another thing that went down was Chantelle(my sister in law) and her little girls got here! It’s been fun to have them here and Scoti has little cousins to play with!
We went to the fair this past weekend and that was fun to get out and see a little of Lexington. We need to get out more and explore but I’m way lame and think it’s so hard to get myself ready, scoti ready and go somewhere. I can’t imagine two kids. We are enjoying our days together though. We usually get a nice walk in everyday, watch wonder pets, I just started greys anatomy and ya I can’t really think of what we exactly do. It works though. The pool just opened this last week. It’s starting to warm up over here but the water is still nippy so it’ll probably be a week or two before we make our first pool trip. Chad is doing really good out here and working so hard for us! He is right on track for his 200 goal and I couldn’t be a more proud wifey!

Oh my and how could I ever forget to mention this! I have officially booked my ticket home for the 4th of July! The second I confirmed the flight I was such a happy girl and couldn’t stop smiling. I am so excited to go home and see family and friends and then to be home for the 4th makes it all that much better! Doesn’t get much better than Richfield on the 4th. We are sure going to miss Chady though!

Here are a few pictures!!

Chads goal poster my mom and I made him! It's so cute huh!
We've loved coloring in spaces everyday when he gets home!
35 down, 165 to go!

All of us at the fair!

My cute little girl!

On a walk with cousins

We tried rice cereal. Not so successful

Love when she smiles!

Loved Jacks Bumbo. We need to go buy her one!

The first step in fixing a problem is admitting you have a problem. I am blogging today to admit a problem. A big one. That I really wasn’t fully aware about until about a half hour ago. This summer packing up and moving away again I told myself I would be so much better and smarter about how and what I packed to bring out with us. Last year being a rookie I packed some pretty ridiculous things. I packed our down comforter, duvet, decorative pillows, Jesus, a 20x20 of Chad and I, easels, a 40” TV, 5 sweatshirts (for South Carolina), 10 pairs of pants, and just lots of other clothes that really never got worn. We packed Chad 10+ pairs of shoes and him 5 pairs of pants. We learned and really did soo good this year. I literally packed like 5 outfits. One pair of jeans, a few dresses, lots of lounge around clothes and all my swimsuits. Chad and I both cut back and packed about a fourth of what we did last year. I say Chad and I though because I just barely got done unpacking Scoti’s room. After hanging a few things up, filling up every drawer, and stacking things upon things on the shelves I decided to do a count of everything and am a little embarrassed. You’ve got to remember we are only out here for a few months. After the count of everything here are my results……

24 pairs of pants.
9 skirts
12 dresses
6 jackets/cardigans
7 shirts
33 onsies
18 pairs of pjs
5 swimsuits
3 swimsuit covers
3 swim hats
6 pairs of shoes
15 pairs of socks
20 bibs
6 blankets
30 burp cloths
3 boxes of qtips ( that is more than 150 qtips… I would have to clean her ears more than once a day to even use them all)
and then this is the best one……
I packed 3 different baby combs. My baby doesn’t even have hair. Oh man.

After my count I also remember I have a load of baby clothes in the washer. So add a few more onsies, pants, and whatever else is in there.

I have always thought I needed more with her but I am now admitting I have enough. At least enough 3-6 month. I am making a blog promise to myself that I will not buy her any more clothes. For a while that is.

So when there were boxes everywhere just a few days ago and I was wondering how do we have so many boxes, I packed so good. I now know why. Just think how smart and good we will be next year. We learn new things every year!

Now lets just pray Chad doesn’t read my blog or there might be a fight going down tonight.

Her skirts. With half having the price tags still attached.
Horrible I know.

Some of her clothes hung up.

Let me add a few more pictures to make this blog not so depressing on my part....

So I sent this picture to my family and said oh how she loves Sophie.
Shortly after my dad texted me back and called her "hannibal lecter"
I said what the heck is hannibal lecter.
He texted back and said it was a young boy who's mother never took out his binky and told me to google it...
I sent him this back and said how dare you compare!
Scoti would only nap on me this day. I loved our snuggle time!
Standing up against couch so big!

My bald beauty!
We bought her a bouncer today and she loves it!
