What a week!

What a week this last week has been. First, when leaving for a week with a child it’s like your moving to a new home. I told Chad it’s a good thing we have an SUV now because all our stuff barely even fit in there. You’ve got moms suitcase, dads suitcase, baby’s bag, pack n play, stroller, breast pump bag, bag with the cold milk, blankets, diapers, lots of diapers, diaper bag & of course that huge car seat.

We left last Wednesday and went and surprised my family at my little brothers basketball game. They were so excited! To see Scoti of course(we’re nothing now). Payton tore it up like always and his team is in the Championship tonight! Yay Payti! We were only in Richfield that night and then the next morning headed up to Provo!

Chad had some meetings with a few security companies. We were planning on going with a smaller company out of Arizona but the more we thought about it and everything we felt better about checking on other companies. I knew I would be miserable the whole summer with no other wives to be with, with the company being based out of AZ most of the reps aren’t members and I knew that could be hard, we knew it would be harder to recruit from an unknown company and a few other problems that we have had with them. I kept telling Chad if I was miserable and not enjoying our summer I knew it would rub off on him and nobody would be happy. I think of last year and being away from all your family and friends and without the girls I had out there, there would have been no way I could of made it.  So after meeting a few regional’s we felt best about Pinnacle and are so happy and excited to be going to Washington DC! With a little Baltimore and Virgina Beach in there. It will be another fun adventure that I can’t wait to make!

While we were up north we stayed at Cam’s house and loved that. His mom makes the best sugar cookies in the whole world and his mom and dad loved Scoti and wanted to hold her every second possible. It’s always nice to pass her off for a little and get to play games or whatever.

Saturday we headed back to Richfield for Super Bowl Sunday! I love Super Bowl Sunday at my parents. All the food, the wings, everybody home together.. It’s just a good feeling!

Monday we headed back up north! Yes lots of traveling this week! Lindie had a dress fitting up in Salt Lake so Scoti and I went up and got to do that with her and my mom. Her dress had came in with the sleeves on it and we were all so excited to see what it looked like. It was gorgeous and totally Lindie! I can’t wait for her wedding! I just hope her and my mom can stay sane in the process of it.

Tuesday Scoti had an appointment up at Primary Children’s for an Ultrasound on her hips. At birth Scoti’s hips were popping out of place so they’ve been keeping an eye on it. A few weeks ago we met with a specialist and he couldn’t feel the pops anymore so he told us that was either a good thing and it had fixed itself or that they were both completely out of socket and we’d need to put her in a harness. He wanted us to come get an ultrasound because they could tell everything with that. We were so happy and felt so blessed to find out everything was just great with her!

Now we’ve finally made it back home and I feel like we live in a pigpen! I’ve started laundry but I think I’ve got like 10 loads of it to do! It’s the third week in a row we have missed trash day and so ya that’s like disgusting and we need to do something about that. I just barely got Christmas down, Scoti is getting real good at blowing out of her diaper, just like lots of fun stuff ya know..

But even with all that to do I put it all aside and just lay in bed with my precious little girl for hours this morning. She is getting so big and so fun! I love just talking to her  (kind of creepy?) and watching her smile all morning and make her little noises. It’s literally the best feeling in the world. And now she is taking a nap and yup I am still not cleaning and am now blogging. It’ll all get done one day.

I wish I had pictures from this eventful weekend but of course don’t. I do have a picture of Lindie’s dress but she would probably just kill if I just up and posted that. Ha I don’t have like pictures of what we did this weekend but if you know me you know I’ve got plenty of just Scoti being Scoti. Sorry to all my instagram followers for the mass daily overload of my child too. For those who don’t do the whole instagram here a few pictures of my freaking cute little girl!

These pictures I just absolutely LOVE!

A little Smile!

This was her watching the Jazz game.

Oh and yes I can’t forget what made it an even better week….. Scoti has slept 7-9 hours at night this last week. Minus one night. At 8 weeks though, so happy!! && some Cheesecake Factory and PF Changs only makes life better!

Blog Update!

Time to blog!.... Before Scoti got here I thought how could your house ever be dirty with a newborn or how could you not stay up on the laundry when your baby sleeps 18+ hours a day. Well our house is messier than ever, no clean clothes, and I never find time to update this blog of mine.  She does sleep SO much but when she’s asleep I just want to hold her and cuddle up next to her! I never like to just set her down and if I do then I do the important things like shower and eat. I honestly never thought I could love this little girl this much and love being a mom this much. It’s been the best thing that has ever happened to Chad and I! We don’t really have much to tell about though.. We just kind of hang out at home all day and dad has just been working. I think Scoti might think Richfield is her home though since she has been there more than she has been in St George. We went down when she was just a few days old for Christmas, then back we went for New Years and the Thompson Christmas party, then the next week Chad went to El Paso to sale so back Scoti and I went for the week and then just three days later we went back to watch Payton play basketball Wednesday and Griff play Friday. We’re home for a couple weeks at least! Grandma keeps calling me trying to talk us into coming back this weekend but we need a weekend here I think!

Scoti is starting to smile lots! It literally melts my heart when she smiles at me. She is going through phases of good and bad nights. We will get it figured out one day. For now though we are just fine! Chad is a champ at getting her to bed at night so I let him. The only problem with that is Chad wants her to sleep in bed with us or on him every night all night and I don’t want her to get used to that and it scares me if she’s in bed with us, so if I fall asleep before Chad has gotten her to sleep he usually pulls a quick one on me and when I wake up she’s on him or between us.  I don’t think I will ever be able to move her out of our room though. Down the hall is way too far. So pretty much getting her nursery all ready was sort of a waste in a way… We will leave in April to Texas and aren’t coming back to this house so she won’t ever sleep in there or anything. Oh well it’s still cute and fun to look at. Ha

I think Scoti set the world record for having the umbilical cord on the longest. 3 ½ weeks later that crusty thing fell off! They said to give it 7-10 days so when two weeks hit I was confused then three weeks came and I was wondering if it was ever going to fall off and then finally I went to go change her and it was gone! Found it down in her footsie. We were so happy when it came off though because we could finally take her first bath. She loves bath time! Hopefully this means she loves swimming and the water because that is what this upcoming summer will be full of! And she got the cutest swimsuit for Christmas so we can’t wait for that!

As for myself this baby fat is not coming off fast enough! (As I eat Oreos) I don’t have a scale here but when I go back to Richfield and get to weigh myself it’s always a happy time to see a little more is coming off each time. Still depressed about my body though. I’ve never wanted to exercise and work hard for a decent body than I do now. Hopefully by spring break and Lindie’s wedding I can feel a little better. Hating all you mama’s that look back to normal 3 days after labor.

Last but not least, you all need to check out my sisters website! It’s www.ldsartco.com It’s pretty much all the artwork that’s in deseret book and what not but LOTS cheaper! Also there is Mikeylin’s Magnet boards so go check it all out and tell all your friends! Use the promo code MIKEY and get 10% off too!!

There is hundreds of all different art but I pulled a few of my favorites!

Here are a few pictures from Scoti's newborn shoot and her birth! Just a few of my favorites! All of my favorites are on my Facebook if you haven't seen this cute girl you must go see! My Sister In Law Mandee did both of them and did such an amazing job!

Oh man I have the cutest baby!!

Scotlynn Anne

I think it’s about time I blog about our cute little Scotlynn! I have wanted to everyday for the last week but never seem to find time. So now we’re driving home from Richfield and Scotlynn is out and I figured this was the perfect time!

I guess ill tell the birthing story and try to leave out any unpleasant details.
I was 40 weeks and two days and had a doctor’s appointment. I was very unhappy to go because I thought I would have had this baby by now. Once again I got told I still had not progressed at all and lets just plan the induction. I had been told my whole pregnancy he wouldn’t do it till 41 weeks so I knew that put me at that upcoming Saturday the 17th.   We planned for 9 that night but I was still determined to have her before then. That whole week I ran more and harder than ever, I got on the birthing ball, jumped, and rode the bikes at our gym. Of course nothing ever happened except getting a bladder infection two days prior to my induction date. Saturday morning I woke up to a text from my doctor telling me he wouldn’t get home from up north till later so he was going to have his partner start me and asked if I could come in at 7. Two hours earlier was great news to me! My family was already down for the big day so we went to lunch, did lots of shopping and waited for the phone call to come on down. At 7 we hadn’t heard from them so we decided we would pack up the car and go get ice cream with my fam and hope they called soon. Minutes later they called and told us they were ready for me. Chady and I were so excited and headed on over. Of course my dearest mother was there too and my amazing sister in law Mandee. I got checked in and they started the whole process. The goal was to hook me up to the patocin and it make me start having contractions that would get me dilated and then my doctor would be there around midnight and he would break my water and we would go from there. So I’m hooked up and the contractions start coming. Nothing nice but not horrible. Midnight comes and my doctor shows up, checks me and I’m at a nice 1. Worst news ever. So… they decide to do this most horrible thing ever where they pretty much put a hose up ya fill it up so there is a balloon in you and then have it run down your bed and hang off the end with a weight. Then they tell me I can’t have an epidural till it comes out. My doctor says hang in there and give it an hour.  Two hours go by and I’m hurting. It was like they wanted me to give birth to this balloon before I did a baby. Not the plan. I was crying asking if I could just have a c-section and get this girl here and this thing over with. I told my mom I was adopting the rest of my children. Since they wouldn’t give me the epidural yet I asked for pain medicine through my IV. Once I got that things got a little better. I fell asleep a little and decided I would have one more kid but it better be a boy. After four and a half hours of that dang thing in me it finally came out. It was almost as exciting as when she came out. Ha not. But it was really exciting. I asked for the epidural asap. About a half hour later I got it and life was real good. The needle from my IV hurt worst than getting the epidural. Minutes after that my doctor came in and broke my water. Minutes after that I got checked again and was at a 6. Yahoo! We thought for sure this little girl would be here by ten. Nope… I stayed at a six till about 2 in the afternoon. It wasn’t so bad though because I got to sleep and relax and be pain free. At 2 I had moved to an 8 and from there it all went pretty quick. We started pushing at 3:30 and had her at 4:40. Long hard pushing I must say. Towards the end little Scoti’s blood pressure dropped to a scary low and they knew that had to get her out. So with a little snip snip and one more hard push we had her. She came out with the cord tight around her neck and purple. We didn’t hear a cry for about 5 minutes and it was the scariest sickest feeling in the world. They were calling for respitory help and I knew it wasn’t good. Finally we heard that most precious cry and I got to hold my girl. It was the best, most undescribable feeling in the whole entire world! She weighed 8 lb 1 oz, was born at 4:40 and was 20 inches long! Oh and we had her on our 1 year anniversary.  A couple hours later we got moved up to our room we would be staying in and Chad and I couldn’t help but just stair at Scoti and smile at what we had done. Then we got a call that tests came back and we would need to take her down to the NICU. Nothing too serious but they’d rather be safe than sorry.  It was so sad having to leave her and not have her with us since we did just get her. They would give me calls in the middle of the night to come feed her and during the day we would just stay with her. Finally Tuesday afternoon we got the good to go and we brought her home! Grandma Thompson was still here to help and that she did! It was so nice to have her there and I wish she were here everyday!

Now she is two weeks old today and I am certain she is the cutest baby in the whole wide world! Ha I could just stair at her all day everyday which that is exactly what I do. She sleeps all day and is up all night. We need to figure out how to switch that. It’s hard being up all night but as soon as you want to get mad or be grumpy you look at her and really just cant help but smile. She’s been in Richfield more than she’s been anywhere else. We went down for Christmas when she was just 5 days old and then came back the Monday after Christmas. We just went back for New Years and the Thompson Christmas party. Next week Chad will leave to Texas for a week so Scoti and I will head back and be with family. They all love her so much and the help is always appreciated. We’re still trying to get chad in the groove of things. Until last night he had changed 1 diaper. Now its 3.. yay.. progress! He isn’t really good at waking up in the middle of the night but did do better last night too. Im hoping with this new year it’s a new Chad. (in that department) I think I could honestly write about her for pages and pages and she is only a big 2 weeks old. I am going to be better about blogging though so I don’t feel like I have to cut things out.
Till then just pray we get the sleeping in the night thing figured out.

Here's a few pictures that I just love. I will hopefully have back her newborn pics soon and I'll post as soon as I do! :)

Due Date

Well we’re two days from our due date and there is no such sign of this little girl coming anytime soon. It’s kind of a bummer because we are just so ready but I guess she just isn’t ready. Or my body is just lame. After four weeks in a row of the doctor saying …. No progress …. I’ve stopped getting my hopes up. It’s looking like I’ll go to my next appointment on Monday and they’ll plan when they’ll induce me. Hopefully the end of next week.. Around the 16th maybe.. Until then I’ll just keep trying to stay busy. I think I have packed and repacked the baby’s bag and my hospital bag like six times. I get so bored during the day I go into the baby’s room and put outfits together. Oh how I can’t wait to dress her and just hold her all day.  I’ve tried I think about everything to try and get her here. We go on walks, jogs and I even try running. Chad laughs at me. Did the curb walking, went bowling, lunges, squats, pogo stick, tramp and Chady is getting more sex than ever. He just loves when the doctor tells us every week to keep having sex. I feel like a big fat monster so it’s one of the last things I could probably care to do but Chad will hold it to me and say, “Do you want her to come or not” Not very nice. We got our little picture wall all done but now need her to come so we can get pictures done and actually have pictures in the frames. The nursery is complete minus her name over her bed and Grandma and Grandpa Thompson will be bringing that when the time is here. I’ve decided on who I all want in the delivery room. My husband of course, my Mother, Lindie, Bay and then I’m going out there and having my sister in law come in and she’ll be taking pictures.

Besides for baby news my life is pretty boring. I did get Christmas all up and am loving that. I just love having the tree all lit up, Christmas music going and this most amazing smelling Christmas candle lit and making my house smell nice and scrumpt. Applesauce Chocolate Chip cookies remind me of Christmas so I made those this week too but you can bet your bottoms they are already all gone. I think I’m going to attempt cinnamon rolls next. Maybe right after this? Here’s a few pictures of our cute little Christmas tree and fireplace. My mom was sure using her head when last year she bought Chad and I stockings and bought three and joking said, “this is for next Christmas” What a smart mother I have. We decorated gingerbread houses Monday for family night and I’m so proud of Chad and myself. It turned out so cute!

Chad’s little brother Connor (secretly my favorite of all) left this Wednesday on his mission. It was so sad saying bye to him and so sad to see Chad so sad. He has lost his number one halo partner and for some reason this actually doesn’t make me sad at all. But I will miss Con and him always sleeping over and being around. He is the best kid! I’ve got to keep Bailey away from BYU so she stays single and unmarried for the next two years so they can get wed! How perfect would that be!!

Last but not least I got to give a shout out to “White Lightening” Chad’s flag football team. They had the tournament last night and came out victorious! Chad did so amazing and scored like 7 touchdowns between all the games. He was MVP if there was one. Ha he better know how much his wifey loves him when she is practically 40 weeks prego and it’s freaking cold outside and I sit there from 6 to 10 watching him play all night.

Well I think I have said this the last 2 or 3 blog posts but hopefully for real next time I’m blogging about our cute little girl! Everyone cross your fingers this just happens naturally in the next week! Or the next few days would be even better!

37+ Weeks & Sneak Peak

Well we’ve got about two and a half weeks to go. Well I hope that is all. My last three appointments haven’t been too great. No progress. Which is pretty much the most depressing news when you’re this big and this anxious for her to just come. I really had high hopes of her coming early, possibly Thanksgiving and then today I pretty much realized I’ll be lucky to get her out on my due date. Either way I really think it’ll come very quick. It’s such a busy time of the year. I cannot believe it’s already thanksgiving and black Friday and then December.  Chad says I can’t do black Friday this year because he thinks I will get trampled and die or something but I am still determined to find at least one good deal.

This last week my sisters, mom and friends threw me a baby shower. It was so much fun and this little girl was spoiled. We got lots of things we needed and just lots of cute things. You never can have enough clothes. We are almost done with the nursery and it’s coming right along. We’re just waiting on her name that’s going over the crib and the frames for a little photo wall. Hopefully that’ll all be ready, done and hung all up by this weekend. I took a few little photos for a sneak peak. I was so happy with how the bedding turned out and my $15 di chair we recovered. I was a little scared to wash all my baby clothes afraid that she might just pop out to be a boy but today I just said oh well and washed everything. Chad and I set up the stroller this last week too and today we went and bought a couple hundred of diapers to start us off. Great sale at Target.

Pink Grey and White

Don't mind the trash just on the chair.

As for the rest of the week. Little Griff has a basketball game in Cedar tomorrow so back to the car I go. At least it’s really not too far. I’m really not liking going to public events because people just tell me how miserable I look and I know I look like a monster and I don’t like people seeing me this way. After that though my family is coming back down to St George for Thanksgiving and the rest of the weekend. Yay!! Also, Connor Chad’s little brothers mission farewell is this upcoming Sunday so Chad’s whole family will also be down for Thanksgiving and the weekend. We’re so sad to see little Connor leave. I’m thinking my in laws are trying to put me into labor though because they are having 4 of Chad’s brothers and 5 cousins(boys) sleep at our house all week. This could be interesting.. Well, I’m hoping my next post is a post welcoming little baby Scotlynn but we’ll see. Pray for me that she comes ASAP.

October

I haven’t blogged in a good month but I always feel like I need to have pictures to post in order to blog about it and considering I’m a huge whale I don’t exactly take many pictures these days. It’s been a while though so I wanted to give an update. I’ll give an October update since I think that’s where I’m at..

First weekend in October we took family pictures with the Hewards. Again. They love their family pictures. We took them six months ago and I couldn’t understand why we would do them again considering the only person that has changed was me with a whole bunch of weight. They wanted pictures again before Connor leaves on his mission. He leaves Dec. 7th and the baby is due the 10th but we are crossing our fingers it comes a little early. My only fear with this would be they would want family pictures again. Here are a few of the pictures. I stole them off Mandee’s blog so they aren’t the best quality but she sure did a good job!

October seems like a big blur. I am really having to think hard of what else happened. At least the month went fast. On the 21st we went down to Vegas for my birthday! Chady surprised me with a really nice room in the Palaza and some show tickets. We had so much fun together and just shopping all weekend. The baby of course got more than me but what do you expect when there are so many cute baby clothes and you barely fit in anything. My mom, Bailey, Brittany & Lindie came down too spur of the moment. We got to shop a little with them and go to dinner but Chad had lots of things already planned. All and all it was a very good Birthday! Big 21!

The next weekend we got to go to Richfield for Bailey’s Birthday and Halloween. Still no pictures. L Chad and I were lame and didn’t even dress up. We told ourselves we would never let that happen again. Bailey turned the big 18 and we got to celebrate with her. Her request for Sunday dinner was sandwich and soup. Chad was so confused because he does not think that is a meal. Especially a Sunday meal. I’m a big soup lover though so I was happy with the pick.

We left Richfield Tuesday, Chad left to Arizona Wednesday and so I came back Thursday. Ha can’t get enough of Richfield. I tried the whole sleep alone thing and it was not going to go down another night. I had to turn off the heat because when it would kick on and off it would scare me. I had the TV blasting all night. I left like 10 lights on and locked the doors twenty times. Needless to say I hate being home alone.

It’s November now though and that’s great news. I honestly can’t believe how fast this whole pregnancy has gone by. I’m praying this last month doesn’t drag on but I really don’t think it will. My doctor said he would strip me the week of Thanksgiving and see where that puts me. I’m really really hoping she is just ready and I have her soon after. Chad and I talk about it everyday how crazy it is that we are having a child. We are so excited though and just want her here now. I’ve been reading a lot lately and I think kind of freaking myself out. My mom was showing me some pictures last night in one of her pregnancy books and I almost just died. I don’t know how a women recovers after a child is pushed right out of her. Oh boy. I want to blog more and be better about pictures. I know once Scotty is here I will have more than enough pictures to post. I have a doctor’s appointment Monday and we are hoping for the best. Hopefully by next week the nursery can be mostly done and I will post some pics of that. Can’t wait!

Car/Kentucky/Powell

Sad day at the Heward household. It was our last day with our beloved Audi. That car was my little baby and I loved every thing about it. But who would know it costs an arm and leg to insure and a car seat is not going to fit too well in that small back seat. Even though my dear kind husband let me go get the SUV I wanted it still makes me sad for it to leave.

So lots and lots to blog about tonight. First, yes new car. So exciting for us. We love it or at least I do! The best part about it is I found it and bought it all while my hubby was in Texas so he never actually saw it till he was home and the purchase was a done deal. That's how I know he reallly loves me. Ha

Lind and I have been busy busy these last months getting orders out and getting ready for the baby show in Kentucky. We also got the opportunity to meet with Deseret book a couple weeks ago and they are going to carry our magnet boards. Pretty stoked about that one.

Kentucky was fun and a good time for sure. We got to go out with our dear sweet mother and our booth was right behind theirs. The best part of the baby show though was all the baby stuff. FOR WHOLESALE! Yay for Chad and I. I got my bedding, crib, dresser, car seat, and lots more. I had bought my stroller out in South Carolina and we had waited on the car seat because it was as much as the stroller and then at the show I bought my car seat for $130 where at buy buy baby it was $300. Steal of deals everywhere. The best though was I found my crib I wanted but chose not to get the matching dresser. The dresser was $299 wholesale and I thought I could find something else. The last day the company I bought my crib from came and asked if I was sure I didn’t want the dresser and I told them ya I was going to look for something else. They told me they would give me a good deal and so I asked what a good deal was. They did the dresser and changing bed that was on top of it for 50 bucks. Just so they wouldn’t have to pack it up. Ya baby! This was after they threw in the mattress and bedding that was in the crib just for the heck of it. Too bad it was boy bedding but still. Just was in heaven.

Chady got home from his extension in Texas last Sunday. He had a really successful few weeks out there. I’m so proud of him and how amazing he is and how hard he works for us! He had a goal with his manager for the few weeks he was out there and hit it so we got to go get him a big ol 55’’ TV today. Thank you capital alarm.

This weekend we had a Lake Powell trip with a few of the people we sold with this summer. Even being 7 months prego it was still a good time! We stayed in an amazing houseboat that Katy Perry was actually on the week before. Ya I know, soo cool! Haha The weather was perfect and I really think the water was glass all day every day. And we got to play the pregnancy card and get a big nice bed to sleep on. It would have been the most perfect Lake Powell trip in history if right when we were pulling into the marina Chad’s manager/my cousin didn't drop his keys in the freaking lake. Ha making it impossible to pull the boat out of the water or get him and his family home from Powell. Luckily they can just like make a key in an hour. Really shocking and weird and kind of creepy but we were already fighting day light before this happened bringing the houseboat in so once the key was made and we had to pull the boat around to load it, It was pitch black and Chad and I were driving it. So scary especially since the only light we had was a headlight. I kept thinking we would for sure hit the mountain or something.

We are finally home though and it feels oh so good! We loved conference and watching it together. We had family pictures yesterday afternoon with Chad’s fam so those will be fun to see in a couple weeks. Minus my big belly.

We are definitely on the countdown for this baby. We have this month, next month, and then she is hear. Holy holy I can’t even believe it! I’ve got the joy of heartburn all day everyday, I feel like her foot is stuck in my right ribs and I never knew I could look so large and in charge.

Chady leaves me again to Arizona for some meetings so back to Richfield I go. I hate being home alone. At least it’ll only be for a couple days this time. I think we will start the nursery soon so hopefully I can blog about that next! ........Wish I had more pictures. :(
