DECEMBER 18TH

Lots to catch up on and oh so many pictures to post. I think I will start with the great day of December 18th!
One year ago our little miss Scotlynn Anne was born and we can’t even start to tell you how much we love this little girl and how amazing this last year has been. She has brought us so much joy and happiness and we don’t know how we got so lucky to be her parents. Everyday is a new adventure and there are really, really good days and some very bad, but at the end of every day when you bounce this big girl to sleep and she is out in your arms you just can’t help but forget anything hard about that day and feel so blessed to have her be your daughter.
I used to want to punch anyone that told me to cherish the time with your baby cause they grow up way too fast. I thought it got annoying after the 20th person, but k really this is so true and I’ll probably be that annoying mom telling all these new moms this same thing. I cannot believe how fast this first year has gone and how I have a walking, talking, messy, trouble making daughter now.
For Scoti’s Birthday we had two parties. Yes she is that loved. We decided we would have the one in Richfield on her actual birthday. It was so fun because all of my friends were home for the break so they could all make it. I think she had more people at her first birthday party than I’ve ever had at any of my birthdays. She got so many toys and clothes from all her aunts, cousins and friends. We did the cake eating and all just sat and watched her for an hour. My dad and Chad just think I am crazy going all out for her birthday, but it’s the first, I had to! The next Sunday we were down in St George and had another little Party with the Heward’s and friends down there. She was once again spoiled and loved being the center of attention!

Ashton helping her open her presents!

Grandma and Grandpa got her a trike

Scoti likes to play with clothes more than toys.

Mandee took Scoti's one year old pictures and they were so much fun and turned out so cute! She's taken some of my favorite pictures of Scoti.

12.18.10

That’s not the only great thing that goes down on the 18th. Two years ago Chad and I were married! Pretty sweet right?! Ya not really. It’s a plus because neither of us should ever forget our anniversary but it kind of stinks because we will probably never celebrate our anniversary on our anniversary! Child always comes first right?!  We keep on saying we are going to pick some random date to celebrate our anniversary but who knows if that will actually ever happen. It just can’t be in December. You can imagine the bank account come December 26… Birthday, Anniversary, Christmas… not good. Don’t do what we did guys.
But k besides all that its’ been a solid 2 years! What!? That seems like so long but really it feels like a few months at the same time. I feel so blessed to have the hubby I have and the dad that he is! He is always keeping me laughing and treating me so well! He works so hard for our family and I feel so lucky to be his wife and to have lots more years with this hunk of a man!

So Chady surprised me the day after our anniversary and took me to Vegas for the day and night. This would now mark the longest time away from Scoti. A solid 24 hours! On our way down to Vegas my husband that is a pro at driving in the snow may or may not have slid us right off the road. 4 hours later, 250 bucks to a tow truck and a stop at a repair shop we were back on the road. We did some last minute Christmas shopping, had some Cheesecake factory, lost some dumb money to the dumb casino's, went to a show and got spoiled in a suite at the Wynn! Successful night I'd say. Well minus our gambling addictions.

I didn't do so great at taking pictures this trip..

Christmas, Christmas break, Hammer family reunion next! Yayyy!

November - December

I think we are due for a little update and a reason to upload too many pictures and try and say something about all of them.. I think it's been over a month since I last blogged and I really don't feel like I have anything way cool to say or tell. Well besides we are with Verizon now and not Sprint.. That's way cool right?? I think it's like the best thing ever. Service in Richfield is heaven. Wait, what about how my daughter is like running now. I think the day after I posted she hasn't walked yet she just started running and now is a walking/running fool I tell ya. You guys would be so impressed. Oh and she has like enough hair to do a 1/4 inch mohawk.

So Thanksgiving is always with the Heward's. It was kind of weird this year because it was only our little immediate family. Like the size of Sunday dinner but smaller because Chantelle and Adam and their kids weren't there. It was delicious as ever tho and still lots of fun! My duty was the pies and little betty I thought I was wanted to make those bad boys from scratch. Well it was Thanksgiving eve and I had nothing. My bad. Well Kneaders was closed, gourmet pie had a line wrapped around Jimmy Johns and so I was the Thanksgiving disappointment showing up with Fresh Market Pies. My dad would be so ashamed.

The next day Chad and I worked a booth at Santa's Workshop for my parents and that was a huge success. We were super busy all day and couldn't stop going going going. Scoti came down and went on a little train ride with Aunt Bay. Chad and I wanted to go with her so bad but seriously never had 5 minutes.

The next week Chad's regional treated us to a night up at the Grand America in Salt Lake. We couldn't say no and were so excited to have a night to ourselves. We left Scoti with Lindie and Cameron and I was a little nervous all night. I had never ever been away from her at night and I kept having bad dreams. I seriously woke up crying in middle of the night after dreaming Jaquel pushed her off the houseboat at Lake Powell. Like tears down my face. I text Lindie and asked her to send me a picture right then! The next day was Chad's work party where he got lots of his awards and prizes and they had a casino night. I was raking in those chips baby. Take me to Vegas I tell ya!

200 Club and Cup Champs!

We had to stop at Scheels since we both hadn't been there yet.
Chad had a little too much fun!

Room Service!
So Scoti turns one in like 10 days! WHATTT?!!? I'm kind of freaking out guys. To tell you Scoti will be spoiled would be an understatement. Birthday and Christmas within a week. Not good. But there is one purchase I was just loving and it couldn't wait till birthday or Christmas. Scoti loves sitting on things and chairs and all that. So I really wanted to get one of those baby size love seats from Pottery Barn. Well you know I was totally going to do it but when I was at Down East and found the exact one I wanted for 35 bones baby. It was $160 at pottery barn. The only thing was I have some dudes name on it. Rory. Oh well tho right? I am going to attempt to unstitch it and if all else fails have something else sewn over it. But k Scoti loves this chair!

Christmas is in 17 days! I can't believe that either. My mom probably has the prettiest Tree and Christmas decorations ever so I was a little scared with Scoti and them. For the most part she has been really great tho! We are only at 3 broken ornaments. Scoti loves to climb under our real tree and poke ornaments and loves/hates the life size singing santa in the family room. I'm really excited for Christmas this year because I think she is going to be fun. Not that perfect Christmas age yet but still it'll be fun!

Richfield's Light Parade

We switched Scoti form formula to Milk this last week. Well that is until she woke up at 4 am throwing up everywhere. And again at 5 and 6. Poor girl has not been feeling the best. We weren't sure if it was the milk or what. We took her into the Dr on Thursday and they gave her some medicine. We gave her one dose and this chick was like lifeless to the extreme. We never gave her anymore but she seems to be better and then not. We were curious about this medicine and about to give her more tonight so googled it.  Here's the first lines of the medicine description .... Promethazine may cause breathing to slow or stop, and may cause death in children. Promethazine should not be given to babies or children who are younger than 2 years old and should be given with caution to children who are 2 years of age or older..... So I think we have a problem. All I can think of is her prescription says for her to take it 3 times a day and we did it once. Oh how happy I am we didn't actually do it 3 times a day.

Well i think that's a wrap. I guess I'll end with some fun facts of this little girl of mine!
-Only drinks out of sippies with straws
-Walking fool
-Throws her head back when mad
-hold her own bottle
-Loves bananas
-Sleeping so good! 9-8
-Still takes 2 naps 1-2 hours each
-Loves her dog buddy
-Loves music.. Her music
-Hates TV

uh oh.. Someone dropped buddy in Aunt Lindie's Bath..

Halloween

Before the days start getting crazy, crazy I wanted to get all caught up on here. Our lives are so hectic and not in a good way. I swear I am about to pull my hair out jumping from one place to another. We cannot stay in one place longer than a couple days. We live out of a suitcase and my poor daughter has slept in a pack n play her whole life. So much for buying that crib 5 months before she came. Chad is still working here and there and it’s hard for Scoti and I to go everywhere he does so we are spending a ton of time apart and I think that has been hard on us as well. We need to get away and do a trip but what we want to do would be really hard with little Scotlynn and I just can’t leave her right now. I’m too hooked to this little one. I keep telling Chad after she is one I will be able to leave her for a little. We’ll see…..

Halloween! So I bought Scoti’s Halloween costume back in July. Ya I was excited I guess you could say.  I was out in Kentucky and found it at Costco and just loved it. I still love it but my only regret was buying a costume that is everywhere and all of a sudden we have 1 million elephants. Pretty sure I had the cutest elephant ever but next year I am going to go searching for that unique best Halloween costume ever! Just wait guys.
The Heward’s did their annual Halloween party the day before Halloween. My mother in law is the greatest and does the cutest little things like this and is always going all out. My father in law just shakes his head with a big smile. Kind of like Chad does to me whenever I do anything. We were pulling up the street and I told Chad I thought there was a fire or something.. No just the fog machine she set up outside. We played games, had a contest eating the donuts off the string, bobbed for apples, decorated cookies and played games. Its always lots of fun to all get together and do these kind of things. I wish I had taken more pictures but I was chasing this elephant everywhere.
The next day we went to Richfield and spent Halloween there. I went that morning with my mom to buy candy and she was loading up so much candy and I was telling her to stop. She had about 400 pieces of candy and then 100 pieces of good candy. We get so many trick or treaters we get the normal candy for the kids that come from who knows where and get big candy bars for the neighborhood kids and friends. Chad and I were handing out candy and about 6:30 we were running low. By 6:45 we were out! These kids start knocking at like 3 around these streets. My mom was running to the store but it is literally impossible to drive down our street because there are hundreds of kids everywhere. I feel so bad for all these kids so I just start handing out all these big candy bars. Kids are freaking cause I’m dropping king sizers in their pillow cases. My dad wanted to just start giving out carrots (which he has before.. he thinks he’s funny). My mom finally got back and we seriously probably had over 700 trick or treatin kids.

That weekend we invited the Heward’s up to my families cabin. Chad and I have gone lots this summer but they have never been able to make it up so when we finally had a week that worked we all headed up for a weekend of fun! We did lots of shooting, smores, games, watching basketball all day, and the boys glued to playing halo. It was a really chill relaxed weekend that we needed and enjoyed.

This last weekend we did Scoti’s 1 year old pictures. I know what anyone that knows her birthday is like what the heck, why so early?? I just knew with thanksgiving, Christmas, anniversary, birthday, shopping I needed to get this done with and not have to be stressing to get them done, back and printed by her birthday! They were so fun to do and I cannot wait to see the edited ones! I took a few on my phone but I will wait to post any until I’ve got the profeshers. I had my sister Mandee Heward take them and guys she is amazing! I had her take Scot’s newborn pictures too. She has always just done it on the side but I hope she expands and starts doing it more because she is amazing!
Scoti was harder to shoot this time because she is just too quick and wont hold still. When we finally pulled the cake out she just would touch it with one finger, lick her finger then do it again. I thought she would dig right in but she was so calm and it took awhile for her to get going. By the end of the shoot her giant one had tipped over and smashed the cake, the balloons were popped, Scoti was half undressed. It was hilarious to just look at the finishing result. It was so fun. I cannot wait till her actual birthday. Parrrtayyyy!

A few updates on our little Scotlynn..
