Time to blog!.... Before Scoti got here I thought how could your house ever be dirty with a newborn or how could you not stay up on the laundry when your baby sleeps 18+ hours a day. Well our house is messier than ever, no clean clothes, and I never find time to update this blog of mine. She does sleep SO much but when she’s asleep I just want to hold her and cuddle up next to her! I never like to just set her down and if I do then I do the important things like shower and eat. I honestly never thought I could love this little girl this much and love being a mom this much. It’s been the best thing that has ever happened to Chad and I! We don’t really have much to tell about though.. We just kind of hang out at home all day and dad has just been working. I think Scoti might think Richfield is her home though since she has been there more than she has been in St George. We went down when she was just a few days old for Christmas, then back we went for New Years and the Thompson Christmas party, then the next week Chad went to El Paso to sale so back Scoti and I went for the week and then just three days later we went back to watch Payton play basketball Wednesday and Griff play Friday. We’re home for a couple weeks at least! Grandma keeps calling me trying to talk us into coming back this weekend but we need a weekend here I think!
Scoti is starting to smile lots! It literally melts my heart when she smiles at me. She is going through phases of good and bad nights. We will get it figured out one day. For now though we are just fine! Chad is a champ at getting her to bed at night so I let him. The only problem with that is Chad wants her to sleep in bed with us or on him every night all night and I don’t want her to get used to that and it scares me if she’s in bed with us, so if I fall asleep before Chad has gotten her to sleep he usually pulls a quick one on me and when I wake up she’s on him or between us. I don’t think I will ever be able to move her out of our room though. Down the hall is way too far. So pretty much getting her nursery all ready was sort of a waste in a way… We will leave in April to Texas and aren’t coming back to this house so she won’t ever sleep in there or anything. Oh well it’s still cute and fun to look at. Ha
I think Scoti set the world record for having the umbilical cord on the longest. 3 ½ weeks later that crusty thing fell off! They said to give it 7-10 days so when two weeks hit I was confused then three weeks came and I was wondering if it was ever going to fall off and then finally I went to go change her and it was gone! Found it down in her footsie. We were so happy when it came off though because we could finally take her first bath. She loves bath time! Hopefully this means she loves swimming and the water because that is what this upcoming summer will be full of! And she got the cutest swimsuit for Christmas so we can’t wait for that!
As for myself this baby fat is not coming off fast enough! (As I eat Oreos) I don’t have a scale here but when I go back to Richfield and get to weigh myself it’s always a happy time to see a little more is coming off each time. Still depressed about my body though. I’ve never wanted to exercise and work hard for a decent body than I do now. Hopefully by spring break and Lindie’s wedding I can feel a little better. Hating all you mama’s that look back to normal 3 days after labor.
