Home Sweet Home

I started blogging about the cruise and thought I would do that first then an update on the house second. In the middle of writing about the cruise I decided I would hold off and wait till we have our under water camera developed and a get some pictures off my moms camera.

So we’ve had a few problems with the house and they have not been fun. The Thursday before we left on our cruise our loan officer informed us he was having a problem. He said he went to get a copy of our taxes from the IRS and they hadn’t processed them yet. He told us we would need to drive to Provo or Las Vegas and get a copy of our taxes and have it stamped and brought to him for him to get the loan finished. We were in Richfield so went to Provo the next day and got turned away because they were so busy. They were closed Saturdays and we were going to be leaving the country Sunday for the week. We decided when we got home the following Sunday we would sleep over in Vegas and then go first thing in the morning on Monday.
We got to the IRS building in Vegas an hour before it opened and there was already a line. We stood in it for about an hour and a half before we were seen. Once in there they told us they process people who get returns first then people who have to pay and that our taxes wouldn’t be processed till mid May. They’ve cashed our checks but wont process our taxes. I was a little mad to say the least.
We got our loan officer the copy of our checks, copy of our accounts showing checks being cashed and had the IRS print us out a document that said they had received and cashed our checks. He thought that would be enough and could pull some strings and get this figured out.
We drove to Richfield Monday night and packed up everything from my parents. Which was more than I had thought we had there. We came back Tuesday night and had our walk through Wednesday. Our house was officially finished and we were planning on moving in that weekend!
Fail. Our loan officer emailed us and told us they had to have the processed copy of our taxes for anyone to take our loan. We called and spent hours on the phone with the IRS and it wasn’t looking promising. Worst case scenario we will be in May 18th. Loan officer seems to think it will only be about 2 weeks but I am just going to cry and expect the 18th. Pretty depressing to have your house all the way finished and you can’t move into it.
Since we don’t know exactly when we will get in Chad is flying out to Minneapolis this Sunday and will fly home when we close on the house then move us in and drive out. Then ill come out a few weeks after. Oh goll I just can’t wait till this fall when we can be home from summer and have a house.
Here are a few pictures I took Wednesday of the house. Should have taken some more.
